Carp Chelsea - Aug 1

I was going to do 100 tabata pull ups, but I walked over to the bars today without any tape - and I was determined not to tear my hands here today ... again. Which is okay, just forced me to do what I dread - Cindy's impatient big sister. Note to self: Chelsea first, then hamburger and sampler at Rincon after. Oh, and second note to self: The red at Rincon is what you want but always forget.

10 rounds in 15 mins. If I remember correctly, I went 5 on, 1 off, 2 on, 1 off, 1 on, 1 off... Everything felt doable, the minutes just seemed short. When I failed, it was by 1 or 2 squats. 

Afterward, I didn't feel so great though. Work capacity is definitely down.

10 hours - 2030/0700. 15 minutes total. PE: 9.

Surrey + Chelsea - Aug 11

AM Pedalmashing a four-wheeled surrey with Kdawg around Ventura. 30 mins-ish.   PM 20 mins of Chelsea on the Carp bar. Still love that thing, although it ate up my hands this day. 10 rounds before failing one, failed after 3 more, then after 4. 17 rounds out of twenty, s'ok with me. Wanted to do more pulls, but after two tabata rounds, I ripped my callouses under both ring fingers. That's all folks. 21 mins.   8 hours - 2300/0730. 12 hours. 52 minutes total, PE: 9+.

WoD - "Chelsea" in Carp - Jan 17

21 rounds minus 4 on the beach with my world's favorite pull-up bar. Long walk over to the push ups though - just slower I guess. Haley kept pace ... fun working out with her. Everything seemed to fail at once, pull ups got hard just when push ups started needing a blow at 8th rep. Squats were doable unbroken throughout, just didn't have the time.

Tried using the new voice-over music this time instead of the watch. It's good, just need to bring the voice up to make it more prominent, or use better speakers - ran it through the laptop.

9.5 hours /48 hours. 22 minutes total. PE: 9.

WoD - Chelsea - July 31

Chelsea as written on the beach bars in Carpinteria. Man, I love that pull up bar! Lose at least 15 seconds of rest walking to and from the push up bar ... maybe I should use a towel and try dropping into the sand next time. Just afraid of creating mud and getting sand in my eyes.

Eleven rounds before failing, didn't continue with the Cindy work for the full 30 minutes. Just a 12th round for good measure. 11's the best so far though.

8 hours/36 hours. 14 mins total, PE: 9. 217/13.

Chelsea/Cindy - Aug 15

I did/tried "Chelsea" at the beach - pull up bar by the volleyball courts at Carpinteria. The pull up bar was 30 feet away from a push-up pit, so I wasted some precious time and energy walking back and forth in the sand. Didn't think I could do the whole thing, so I came into the test with the rule that if I failed to complete a round in the minute, I'd rest through to the next minute's "go," and see how many rounds I could get in the 30 minutes.

I made it through 10 rounds before I couldn't meet the minute. Rested through to the next - then did 2 rounds before failing, then 2 more, then 2 more, then 2 more, and then dug deep and did 4 before a final blow and final round. 23 rounds, it was a learning experience. My previous best "Cindy" was like, 12 rounds in 20, so 10 rounds in the first 10 minutes shows a huge improvement. I feel the training effect from this one. Chelsea; one ruthless taskmistress.
