Overheard: Repping Out.
I happen to like training for strength-endurance. Everyone talks about "functional" training, but they never say what function they're training for. If you look at the demands of most daily activities, eg., helping a buddy move, these never involve lifting as much weight as you can one time, nor do they involve running a 26.2 mile course. Instead, you're lifting moderate loads and carrying them over a moderate distance, over and over again. Most sports have similar demands. That's not to say that maximal lifting is not important: you can't have strength-endurance without strength. But sometimes, doing some sets of 20-30 reps is a good thing.
